HMS Rodney

British battleship of World War II. On the morning of May 27, 1941, with H.M.S. King George V
intercepted and engaged the German battleship Bismarck in the North Atlantic, bringing an
end to the German ship’s brief but dramatic sortie. Later provided support for the Allied invasions
of North Africa and Normandy, and served as escort on convoys to the Soviet port of Murmansk
