Ray Ashton
Hi All,
Does anyone remember me Ray or Raymond as I may have been called then (Ashton).
Falcon 1968. I am particularly trying to trace Chris Bell of the same class. Any
information as to his present whereabouts would be most appreciated. He hailed
from Sevenoaks at that time.
I joined the New Zealand Shipping Company ("PIAKO") upon graduating and did the
Manz run for 18 months, eventually ending up with Cayzer Irvine (Union Castle
Line) on "Tantallon Castle" up until 1971. I then went to Greece and took up a
position as skipper on a charter yacht, followed by many more such positions
until 1975 when I returned to the UK and Joined the Humberside Police. Following
a 12 year career, 10 years as a Detective, I returned to Greece as a marine
surveyor/Investigator with a British company, investigating marine casualties
around the world for insurance company's. In 1992 following my second marriage,
myself and Amanda my wife set up our own marine surveying and investigation
company in Greece and in St. Lucia in the Caribbean and continued until 2003
when we moved our head office to Marbella on the Costa Del Sol in Spain. We
continue to this day in the same vain of business and enjoy the lifestyle on the
Costa.
