I was at the PWSTS Dover from January to
May 1975 in Arethusa Class.
The Class Instructor was Mr Burgess. Class mates were Frank Wrenn, Nigel
Skaife, Kenny Sharp, Anthony Spencer, Chris Swift, Paddy Brown and Mathew
Horton.
I sailed both as an Engine Room rating and later as a GP rating with BP
Tankers.
Left in 1978 and went fishing before joining BT (GPO). Completed 11 years
as a cable jointer and 14 years as a Surveyor. Took voluntary redundancy
in March 2004 as we were planning to emigrate across the Channel to
France. Plans fell through and I am now working for the NHS as well as
helping my other half set up a small B&B business here on the North Coast
of Cornwall at St Agnes. Married to Anne (nearly 25 years!) with one
daughter, Katy.
Still in contact with Geoff Shepherd who was at the School at the same
time as me but in a different class.
