My first ship was the MV Port Auckland which was my first sea going berth, found for me by the BSS. After two years with the Port Line I joined the Hogarth Line on a ship called the Barron Scot. I eventually left the sea, but missed it so much I joined the Fleet Air Arm as a naval air mechanic.

After leaving the forces I moved to Paignton in Devon and eventually bought and ran a pleasure boat business from Paignton harbour and finally ended up with a 17 metre fishing boat fishing the Channel and the Bay of Biscay. I still live in Paignton but I am now retired.
